The CA5.0 is your entry to the world of carbon deep profile wheels. Popularised by Mavic, HED and Bontrager as a carbon 'fairing' rim with an aluminium braking surface, this design creates an exceptionally strong, durable and stiff deep carbon rim with a suitably predictable aluminium braking surface. The carbon 'fairing' does not need to handle the stress of the nipples and thus can be made as light as possible. The main difference between our rim and the other brands is the use of a full carbon fairing as opposed to either a hybrid glass fiber/ carbon or polycarbonate/ carbon fairing. This helps us reduce the weight of our wheels to 1600g.A very respectable weight for a carbon rim with an aluminium braking surface as most come out closer to 1800g.

When we developed this wheelset, we had intended it to be one of the best value deep profile wheel for crit racing, however during testing, we realised that these wheels are also suitable for triathlons, road races, time trials and even cyclo-cross as it is the strongest carbon rim in our lineup.

Our Prodigy wheels feature our own SOUL PRODIGY hubs which weight 270g/pair, and use only 1 spoke length for the entire wheelbuild. The SOUL hubs feature a smoother freewheel design with 2 sets of 3 simultaneously engaging pawls and 2 sealed bearings front and 4 sealed bearings rear.

Fully artisan crafted and handbuilt with equal spoke tensions. Spoke threads are preped before assembly to prevent spoke binding and seizing. All spokes are stress relieved a few times during build process.
